WATER-JEL® products are safe and effective, versatile, FDA-approved medical devices and over-the-counter topical drugs for emergency first aid burn treatment in the pre-hospital setting. WATER-JEL® burn dressings and gels contain water-based, water-soluble gel that draws the heat out of a burn while it relieves the pain, cools the skin, and protects against airborne contamination. By applying WATER-JEL® burn dressings or gels as soon as possible, the heat of the burn is absorbed and dissipated, helping to prevent the damaging heat from progressing deeper into the skin. The gel evaporates at a very slow rate which cools the skin.
